But its technology wasn’t as far-reaching as the Airflow’s. That’s not to suggest that Airstream wasn’t a good car it was well-built and well-engineered. For 1936, Chrysler sold nine Airstream cars for every Airflow car that was sold. The 1936 Chrysler Airstream wasn’t as streamlined as its Airflow counterpart, but it still contained similar styling cues. The new Airstreams were introduced in January 1935. The Airstream they styled was handsome looking, but mainstream and conventional when compared to most other cars from the era.
